‘Tea BreaK’ photographed in 2016, Kashan, Iran by Ugne Pouwell.
This shot was captured by Ugne on her travels to Iran. It depicts the lounge area where the silk weavers have their tea. The memory of the Silk Road is still alive in the most remote regions of Iran, where the ancient route once passed. Ugne captured this scene in black and white to emphasise the ancient memories visible in the composition. Another word that comes to mind when viewing this photograph is honesty. The honesty of how the silk weavers of Iran still live nowadays.
‘Tea Break’ is printed Hahnemühle German Etching 310 gsm fine art paper and measures 33 x 48 cm. It’s limited to just 20 editions.
