Smiltis’ photographed in 2020, London, United Kingdom by Ugne Pouwell.
‘Smiltis’, the study of sand grain shaping, explores a technique inspired by the concept op the zen garden. It takes a portrait of a woman and changes it into something else by masquerading a portion with sand grains. By doing so, Ugne has transformed the ordinary into the extraordinary.
This photo is limited to an edition of 15 and is printed on 329 x 483 (A3+) Hahnemühle German Etchin 310 gsm, fine art paper.
Ugne signs and labels each print with a date and corresponding edition number by hand.
