‘Personatus’ photographed in London, United Kingdom, 2020 by Ugne Pouwell.
‘Personatus’ is a self portrait that Ugne shot during Covid-19 full lock down. During this period everybody’s state of mind was afflicted by the reality of the virus. The transition to the new normal is captured in ‘Personatus’. The title ‘Personatus’, meaning mask in Latin, is visualised by Ugne herself looking through a gash in the thing layer. This mask is Ugne’s reference to the most iconic aspect of the covid-19 crisis, the face mask.
‘Personatus’ is printed Hahnemühle German Etching 310 gsm fine art paper and measures 48 x 33 cm. It’s limited to just 20 editions.
Ugne signs and labels each print with a date and corresponding edition number by hand.
