‘863’ is a unique work of art by the Canadian artist Sonja Kobrehel. Sonja is known for never doing the same thing twice. She takes absolute freedom when it comes to her art and lets her thoughts and feelings guide her through the process. ‘863’ depicts a subject-less subject leaving us to think about the nature of art and reality. It’s almost a conceptual art exercise where the image is just a trigger for thoughts. Sonja wanted to free the picture of materiality, to open the way into infinity by avoiding all figurative elements with the goal to make sure that state of mind created within the viewer isn’t distracted.
‘863’ is an abstract painting created using acrylic paint on a wooden panel. It measures 101 x 101 x 6 cm and ships ready to hang.
