‘Renascer’ is a unique work of art by the Portuguese artist Nogueira de Barros. It depicts an abstract composition about rebirth and the spring season, where colour is reborn out of the dark winter. Nogueira embodied his vision with the use of expressive colours. The warm red tones are clearly dominant with yet a hint of an icy blue colour in the centre, resembling the leftovers of winter. Through his technique and use of multiple media, it’s like newly blossoming spring flowers are popping up all over the canvas.
