‘Northern Resonance’ is a sculpture by the Swedish sculptor and artist Johannes Nielsen. This sculpture is about origin and belonging. Half of it is the body of Johannes himself and the other half is part of a root he found in China, his current home. ‘Northern Resonance’ depicts a rather strong message. Finding your roots is not about a piece land you once came from. Your roots can be replanted. They do not need to ground in one particular soil. They can move between earth and sky, east or west. Like Johannes roots did when he found them, ten years ago, in China.

‘Northern Resonance’ is cast entirely out of bronze and measures 85 x 37 x 25 cm with a weight of 10 kg. It’s limited to just 8 editions.
