The inspiration for ‘The One Who Fell from Grace with the Sea’ comes from Yukio Mishima’s ‘The Afternoon Towing’, a novel about alienation, gender roles, glory and honour. The story is set to an oceanic background which inspired David to use water ripples and white water as a frame for a still life portrait of the young Belgian-Congolese woman Ornella.

‘The One Who Fell from Grace with the Sea’ is printed on 25O gsm Kodak Pro Endura paper and is available in two sizes: 80×80 cm (edition of 10) and 120×120 cm (edition of 10).
