‘Past Life’ is a limited edition photograph by the fine art travel photographer & journalist Ben Mckechnie. This photograph depicts a dog staring longingly at the Taj Mahal in the late evening sunlight. Ben took this photograph on his first visit to India, a country that he would later return to several times, most recently on a photojournalism assignment for BBC Travel.
“Trying to find a unique angle on the world’s most photographed building is tough, so my heart jumped for joy when I came across this dog standing in the late evening sun. For close to 1 hour, in the Mehtab Bagh gardens across the river from the main complex, he was showing the Taj Majal some serious love and appreciation, almost as though remembering a grand past life.” — Ben Mckechnie
Camera & lens: Canon 5D Mark II with a Canon 24–105 mm f4 L lens
